Stone Town is the historical center of the skeleton. Let's see the old market, which was founded in 1904. Huge fruit rows, outlandish fruits and spices. In addition to the goods, the market gives us the opportunity to feel the pulse of this African-Muslim island, to hear the many different dialects of local languages. After the market we head towards the Anglican Cathedral, built by Bishop Steers in 1874 next to the market where human goods were traded. After all, Zanzibar was one of the largest centers of the slave trade. We will see the premises where the slaves were kept.
We will visit the National Museum of Zanzibar, which will take us back in time to 1925. The exhibits include many relics from the Sultanate era and objects that testify to the early explorers of East Africa.
Another historical monument of the era of great discoveries is the Portuguese Fort (1700) and the mysterious House of Wonders (1883).
A walk along the narrow old streets of the Stone Town, where many houses of a century and a half have survived.
