The equator divides the land into the northern and southern hemispheres, and passes through the territory of Kenya. Samburu Nature Reserve is already in the northern part. The climate here is arid, which immediately catches the eye after the ancestral lands of the Kenyan highlands. The landscapes of Samburu are grandiose. The reserve stands on the Evas Nyiro River, and forms an oasis with shady forests. Here you can see rare endemic animals they are called - the Sambur Five.

Several species of endemic animals live in the park, for example - gerenuk, a small antelope with a neck like a giraffe. There are many birds in the forests. And also leopards live here, most often they can be seen at dusk, when they begin to hunt. Lions are also frequent guests of the river. If you are lucky, you can see a flock of wild dogs crossing the territory in search of prey.

Morning Safari. Moving to Aberdare National Park
Aberdare National Park is located about 100 km north of Nairobi and has a variety of landscapes, since the height of the park varies from 2100 m to 4300 m above sea level. It is located north of the equator. The park is characterized by a rich variety of landscapes - from mountain peaks that rise up to 4300 m above sea level, to deep V-shaped valleys with streams, rivers and waterfalls. Moorlands, bamboo forests and rain forests are located at lower elevations of the park. This park is famous for its unique stilt lodges overlooking a watering hole . The royal family visited one of them; it can be called historical. You don’t even have to go on a safari, you can see everything from specially equipped terraces. Here you can take away different types of monkeys, including colobus. Elephants, buffaloes, and countless antelopes come to the water. Toward night, the movement at the watering hole will revive, predators and nocturnal inhabitants (Janets, hyenas, and other inhabitants of the forest) come out.
